Terra Blanca has been producing Hand and Surface Sanitizer since early March 2020 for Health Departments, Hospitals, First Responders, and critical food processing facilities throughout the Northwest to assist in responding to the COVID-19 crisis. Our involvement in production of Hand and Surface Sanitizer came about when I was asked by friends in the medical field if there was anything we could do to help with the severe shortages of alcohol-based Hand and Surface Sanitizer. We were able to quickly produce the initial batches of Hand and Surface Sanitizer in a few days and have been working hard to keep up with demand for the product.
We are making this Hand and Surface Sanitizer in accordance with the World Health Organization approved formulation which contains 80% Ethyl Alcohol and has been proven by WHO as effective against COVID-19. The product is made entirely from ingredients manufactured in the United States. The Ethyl Alcohol is specifically approved by the FDA for use in Hand Sanitizers. The Hand and Surface Sanitizer is blended and bottled at our Red Mountain, Washington State Winery, supporting small business jobs. We have initially packaged this Hand and Surface Sanitizer in a somewhat non-traditional package, wine bottles. This packing has allowed us to use the packaging equipment we have available. We are now also starting to package the Hand and Surface Sanitizer in larger formats including 5 gallon jugs and 54 gallon drums. For ease of use we suggest filling smaller bottles with a spray pump, squirt pump, or flip top bottle.
